6 continents, 6 schools and 6 workshops
When we were called by La Casa Encendida to design a workshop with students from 6 educational centers in Madrid, the number resonated with continents, imaginary folklore and pangea...
After exploring traditional music from the 6 current continents through remixing and the body, each of the groups thought of their school as an imaginary continent: drawing the cartography of their continent, drawing and photographing possible inhabitants and totems, and recording sounds and music from that possible territory.
With all this material we created an imaginary musical Pangea in which the flolklore created by the students of the 6 schools was mixed. The results were presented to the public in La Casa Encendida in an installation to explore and improvise in group.
