After the first exchange with students from Poland through sound, during the second quarter we had the opportunity to develop another exchange with a school in Istanbul, whose 4th grade students collected their musical life stories to cross them with ours. The idea was to send the musical life stories initially incomplete, just a picture and a song, so that the others had to imagine what story was behind that song and that picture. We saw it as an opportunity for the students to get closer to other children from another cultural context through their musical memories.

hdVM's christmas exchange
The third year of Sanjomix we have only been working with 6th grade to close the cycle with them and work on the replicability of the activities in the center. In the first trimester, talking with the teachers about this topic, David proposed to make a short version of the musical life stories for Christmas.
The idea was to think of a reduced format, which would be simple to produce and maintain the relationship between story and music. The students asked at home about important songs and prepared a story about why they had chosen that song.
The students had to represent this story graphically with a drawing to prepare a Christmas greeting with these everyday messages. To make the greetings sound we did a short workshop with the students so that they could learn how to prepare a QR code for the songs they had chosen.
Arzu, the teacher from Istanbul with whom we had collaborated the previous year, also prepared greetings and we exchanged them for Christmas.
You can listen to the songs by scanning the QR codes on your computer screen with your mobile :P
The 5th grade students also prepared their Christmas cards with the HdVM that they made with their tutors with the idea of exchanging them among the families of the school.
