The program as a moving archive...

Teatro Central 2025

This taller belongs to the proyect: Teatro Central Laboratory

The laboratory aims to reinterpret, through musical remixing and the gaze of the participating students, the program of the Teatro Central for the 2024-25 season as a sound archive.

More than 130 boys and girls from secondary and high school have composed a sound piece inspired by each of the plays scheduled for this season. Working from the synopses and sounds of the teasers, they have remixed songs that they have linked to the themes of the play, and have sampled sound material searched in the BBC's online archive. The sound pieces will be played in the auditorium before the start of each show and will be distributed with the theater's QR code-accessible handbills.

You can listen to the pieces here in order of premiere date of the shows.

Desarrollo de los talleres

The work has been articulated around two working sessions with the students during the months of January and February, one in the Central Theater and the other in their schools. In addition, a previous contact has been made with the participating teachers to expand the scale and impact of the project from the theater to the classroom.

We contacted 133 boys and girls from the high schools IES RamĂłn Carande, IES Severo Ochoa, IES RamĂłn del Valle InclĂĄn, IES Tartessos and IES Murillo who, working in groups of 3, created 44 sound pieces based on the sound materials of the shows and remixed them with their chosen music or sounds.
